Actually I did an episode where I reviewed the British sites, his included. Considering the position that he's in, I think it's an appropriate site. Of the British sites, hands down the worst one is for the Duke of York.
Haven't had a chance to listen to the episode yet, but I agree with your choices, except maybe for the Imperial Household Agency -- it's a poorly organized site and lacks images, but it provides speeches and interviews (although they're often posted late). Also, translations of the imperial family's New Year's poems are posted there, which I appreciate because people keep asking me where they can find those!
I agree that the IHA's site has a lot of good information on it. If you're willing to take the time to search for it. The way the site looks is a turn-off, especially since it visually hasn't changed in the last 2 years. So a lot of fascinating information, such as traditional ceremonies or what the royal family does, is lost. A house may have a lot of beautiful treasures inside, but if it looks derelict on the outside there's no encouragement to go in. It's a shame.
Very true, and it's frustrating because, as you say, there are a lot of treasures buried there.
